On December 7th and 8th of 2013 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, over 1,700 doctors, oral surgeons, hygienists, assistants, and community members came together with the CDA Cares San Diego volunteer dental program to provide dental services at no charge to those in need. Dr. Melanie Parker and our team were proud to be a part of such a successful event, where over 12,518 total procedures were provided to 2,203 patients in the San Diego community.
Through this nonprofit organization run by the California Dental Association, 1.62 million dollars worth of oral healthcare services were provided at no charge to patients who experience barriers to adequate dental care. Dr. Parker, one of this year’s event organizers, works with the CDA in their efforts to create an environment where good oral health is valued and made a priority for each and every person.
