Meet Dr. Melanie Parker

Dr. Parker became an orthodontist because she knows the positive effect a beautiful smile can have on a person’s confidence and self-image. She enjoys getting to know all her patients and their families and loves the great team of people that helps her create great smiles in the office.

Education

She received her dental training at the University of California, San Francisco, and also spends numerous hours each year staying at the forefront of orthodontic technology by taking continuing education courses.

In the Community

Dr. Parker volunteers her time at the UCSD dental outreach program to provide care to the homeless and low income families. On the faculty, she lectures to pre-dental students and medical students. She also mentors students as they shadow her in her office. In addition, students observe as she provides free care to low income families. This dedication to her community really shows that she's invested in her patients, inside and out of the office.

She is also a founder of the "Flying Doctors" San Francisco chapter, providing dental care in rural Mexico, and has performed wild animal dentistry at the San Francisco Zoo and Marine World.

Outside the Office

When she's not practicing orthodontics, she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, skiing, and wake boarding.
